Access I.T. CLG is a non for profit Information Technology Training and Test Centre. We are located off the main Cork Road in Waterford City. We are an accredited ECDL Training and Test Centre and are pleased to be in a position to offer such a highly acclaimed course at community rates. Additionally, we offer a wide range of I.T. courses ranging from our ‘Equal Skills’ course for beginners to our ‘Facebook for Business’ course for those who wish to endeavour a more professional training route.
Access I.T. CLG, formally the ‘Computer Access Co-operative’ was established in 1997 through an identified need for training in Information Technology in the Ballybeg community.
With the support of the Ballybeg Community Development Project, local volunteers, Waterford Regional Youth Services and the Department of Social Community and Family Affairs, a working group of local people established a small computer room with 10 personal computers in the Parish Centre, which was opened to the public in late 1997.
The Voluntary Working group developed a training manual and delivered an Introductory and Advanced course in computers to small groups of local people. From there, we expanded to greater areas of Waterford. In 2000, with the aid of funding from Ireland Funds, we became ECDL approved as an accredited Training and Test Centre.
In 2003 Computer Access Co-Op became Access I.T. CLG a non-for- profit charitable status company and community based Information Technology training centre in Ballybeg, Waterford City. Since then we have progressed and established a firm base throughout Waterford City and have successfully trained individuals from various communities and places. To date, we have trained over 5,000 students. We are supported under the community service programme (Pobal).
At Access I.T., we pride ourselves on contributing to the fight back against digital exclusion and providing an informal space for people to learn and progress.
Access I.T. has given me a better understanding of my PC. The social aspect is very positive and I would like to continue
I learned to do many useful things on the computer, which will always be beneficial to me. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and good tutors who show great patience
It keeps my mind alert and I like the internet. I have met some very nice people at the Over 55's club and enjoyed the chats and laughs
Not sure which course is for you?
